Membership

ASJH members are people who share a passion for jewelry, be it ancient, antique, or contemporary. We welcome collectors, dealers, historians, designers, gemologists, craftspeople, curators, appraisers--anyone with an interest in jewelry. You needn't be a "historian" to benefit from membership. Our meetins are wonderful opportunities to hear interesting and informative lectures by experts from all over the United States and Europe, and to connect with others who share your interests. There is no better way to enter the fascinating realm of people and traditions relating to jewelry than a membership in the Society.

ASJH Member Benefits

• Four lectures per year featuring distinguished speakers on a wide range of jewelry-related subjects, which take place in New York City. For members who cannot travel to lectures, we provide detailed synopses in our newsletter. We also have a New England and a West Coast Chapter that offer lectures and other events several times per year - lectures take place in Boston and San Francisco/Los Angeles respectively.
• A special event each year.
• A 20-page newsletter published three times annually featuring original articles, book reviews, a timely calendar of jewelry-related events in the United States and Europe including special exhibitions, lecture summaries, news about members, and other useful information.
• Bi-annual Membership Directory with supplements in the year it is not published.
• The opportunity to buy books on jewelry and the decorative arts at discounted prices.
• You may attend lectures of the Society of Jewellery Historians in London which are not open to the public. (Requires advance notice)
• You receive a membership card.

The American Society of Jewelry Historians is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization chartered by the State of New York to provide education about jewelry history to the public. Membership is open to anyone who wishes to join, there are no specific requirements. Membership in the Society does not constitute endorsement of any individual, business or institution. The Society does not have any consultants. The Society's logo may only be used only for official Society business or correspondence. Individual members may not use the logo.
